12/3/08 The Cards Will Be Dealt Next Week

Today we attempted to fix any quirks or any loose screws for our final prototype of the game. The rules were edited so that they can be uploaded onto the website. The website will be ready and running before 12/9/08. The cards are in the process of being made for the final prototype; as a result, we hope the cards will be laminated and pasted on cardstock by Saturday. Once the website is up be sure to visit the shop section of the site and buy our merchandise.

11/19/08 Lone Roll Poker Game Testing Day

Today we tested the design of our game amongst our peers, which turned out to be very helpful. The game still had some flaws, but the concept of the game fascinated our peers. The flaws in the game was that gamers did not know when to really use the scenario cards and that betting should be limited to only two rounds. However, people did like the use of scenario cards in the game and the fact that they can increase the point value of their cards. Although there were two major flaws in the game, we still had to consider minor flaws such as the consistency of pictures on our scenario cards. We thought various pictures of old west figures, such as cartoons and actual pictures, would add a kind of diversity to the game; however, unfortunately, some people disagreed on our tastes. Our next blog post will be on or around next (12/3/08) because next week is the week of Thanksgiving Day. Therefore, Happy Thanksgiving Day avid Lone Roll Poker Gamers!

11/12/08 Lone Roll Poker Found That Zing

We finally decided on how to add that little zing to our game, which is adding scenario cards as a second deck. The deck contains twenty-six different scenarios that may help or hinder you from winning a hand. In order to draw such a card depends on the roll of the die. We are still in the process of building our website; however, we are adding a shop and videos to the site. Therefore, be on the lookout for our site by returning to this blog.

04/05/08 Lone Roll Poker Under Construction

The concepts of lone roll poker, mainly the rules and creativity aspect of the game, were thought to have less of a sparkle or zing within the game. Therefore, we tried to create or add various elements to the game such as a board, a hierarchical system, and even a two deck system. Although the current concepts still seemed unique and different to other poker games, we still needed an intricate deck that follows our old western theme and a deck that adds a little more excitement to the game. As a result, we may add scenario cards to the deck in order to heighten the arousal of the game.

10/29/08 Design of Lone Roll Poker

Today we tried to expand on the concepts and background of Lone Roll Poker. The original name for the game was One Card Gamble, but we decided to change the name to Lone Roll Poker. We came up the with the name by deciding that the game will have an old west kind of theme to it. Therefore, we had names like Luck of the Draw, Sole Roll Poker, and Lone Roll Poker to choose from. We chose Lone Roll Poker because lone means one person, roll incorporates the dice, and poker states that it is a gambling game. We also decided on the design of logo, which incorporates a sheriff badge, dice, and the deck. We have also started on building our website on weebly.
